Winooski Rec. Presents Art in Nature – Fall Edition

The City of Winooski Department of Recreation & Parks is providing a free art program which invites community members to express themselves artistically in Winooski’s beautiful public parks! Inspired by Andy Goldsworthy (famous sculptor, photographer, and environmentalist), this outdoor project facilitates an opportunity to create art by incorporating mindfulness, a renewed sense of excitement, inspiration, and peace of mind.

Fall 2018 dates:
Sunday, September 30 @ Casavant Natural Area 1 PM – 3 PM
Sunday, October 21 @ Gilbrook Natural Area 1 PM – 3 PM
Free, Adults 18+ (donations accepted)

Bring the following items for a more enjoyable afternoon:

• Camera
• Journal and pen
• Bug spray
• Appropriate clothing

We will start with a brief introduction and continue with “solo walks” – helping participants find inspiration for their art. Feel free to take notes or photos along the way! After our solo walks, we’ll enjoy some quiet time to reflect and journal or just take in the peaceful environment. Afterward, we’ll begin to create art using Winooski’s natural resources!
