Press Release: Myers Memorial Pool Renovation Project Bond Vote

Introduction  

Residents of the City of Winooski will have the opportunity to vote on a bond regarding the Myers Memorial Pool Renovation Project during the Vermont State Primary Election, which will take place at the Winooski Senior Center (123 Barlow Street) on August 14th, 2018. Polls will be open from 7 AM to 7 PM.

Bond Vote Details

The officially warned language of this bond vote is as follows: Shall the bonds of the City of Winooski in an amount not to exceed Three Million Nine Hundred Twenty Thousand Dollars ($3,920,000), be issued for the purpose of the planning, design and construction of improvements for the City, known as the Myers Memorial Pool Renovation Project, consisting of planning, design, construction, and reconstruction of the Myers Public Pool, including construction of an addition to the bathhouse building, a filter room, a competition pool, a family pool, and other park improvements?

What does the project cost?

The total cost of this project is $3.92M. If funded solely by Winooski taxpayers, the impact of this project could be up to a $0.082 increase in property taxes (an estimated $185.49 annual increase on a $225,000 home).

Timeline

July 25, 2018 – The Community Services Commission will host an informational meeting and Q & A (6:30 PM @ Winooski City Hall) regarding the bond vote. Light refreshments available. Click here to join the event on Facebook.
