The City of Winooski would like to formally thank our community partners, volunteers, staff, and sponsors for making the 2018 Halloween in Winooski event a success. Winooski continues to be an amazing Halloween destination – we hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween night tonight!
We would also like to take a moment and thank Sally Tipson and everyone at Season’s Greetings for their 16 years of dedicated service in managing the Festival of Pumpkins. It goes without saying that this is one of Winooski’s best events.
As you may have heard, Season’s Greetings announced that this would be their last year managing the Festival of Pumpkins. The City of Winooski has met with Season’s Greetings and Downtown Winooski to begin the process of reaching out to community members and partners to ensure that this important community tradition continues into the future.
“For 16 years, dedicated volunteer residents in Winooski have worked tirelessly to bring the Festival of Pumpkins to our community for all to enjoy. What started with a few pumpkins in front of businesses and homes has expanded into one of Vermont’s most iconic Halloween spectacles that is not to be missed. Sally Tipson and the entire volunteer team at Season’s Greetings have selflessly worked to give our community a wonderful gift and a legacy event. We look forward to working with our community partners and other volunteers to continue honoring the Winooski Festival of Pumpkins and the dedicated volunteers who worked for so many years to make the event what it is today.”
– Seth Leonard, Mayor of Winooski
As we continue the discussion about next year’s event, feel free to contact Ray Coffey, Community Services Director (email@example.com / 802 655 6410) with any questions, suggestions, ideas, or to sign on to volunteer for next year’s event. We’ve got big shoes to fill and will need neighbors like you to help carry the tradition forward!
