Water is supplied to all residents of Winooski via a town-wide system. The City also has a municipal sewer system and is responsible for waste water treatment. This critical function of city government is responsible for cleaning and treating 400,000 gallons of effluent each day to ensure that it doesn’t harm public health or the environment.
Water and sewer bills are mailed to residents four times per year:
- January 15th (Payment due February 15th)
- April 15th (Payment due May 15th)
- July 15th (Payment due August 15th)
- October 15th (Payment due November 15th)
Winooski, along with several other Chittenden County towns, is responsible for restoring streams and rivers damaged by runoff from storms. We also participate in a committee that administers the Regional Stormwater Education Program that helps citizens understand stormwater issues and take steps to keep our streams, rivers, and Lake Champlain clean.
