The Winooski Senior Center is a center rich in history. In 1968 a small group of 16 seniors held their first meeting at the C.Y.O (Catholic Youth Organization). In 1969 the senior club was instituted when the first four officers were elected. The Senior Center had numerous locations over the years to include the: Knights of Columbus, Methodist Church, and 41-43 Main Street but membership remained strong through all the transitions. In 1974 the Senior Center reached its current location, at 123 Barlow Street, when the City of Winooski worked with the Roman Catholic Diocese and reached an agreement to have the center adjacent to St. Stephen’s Church and has been going strong ever since.
