The Winooski Police Department is currently accepting applications for 1 full-time Public Safety Dispatcher. We are a progressive, community oriented, 24-hour police department, serving a diverse population of over 7,500 citizens in the heart of Chittenden County. Applicants must possess strong customer service skills, the ability to multi-task and remain calm in high-pressure situations

Responsibilities include a full range of technical skills to answer incoming emergency and non-emergency calls for service, and to dispatch police, fire and rescue personnel and equipment by operating a variety of telecommunications equipment including telephone, 2-way radio, and Computer Aided Dispatch systems; access computerized systems for automated information retrieval and incident documentation; perform routine clerical work.

This is a FOP Union position with a starting annual wage of $36,095 and up based on experience. After the training period is complete the employee enters a step system per union contract.
